Alfa Day in Hiroshima

In Japan May is one of the best seasons for the classic car lovers because of the comfortable climate.  Therefore, lots of classic car meeting were held on this weekend in various areas of Japan.  Also in Hiroshima Alfa Romeo owners meeting was held.

It was very relaxing and fun gathering continuing 10 years.  Every year in this season the Alfa Romeo lovers gathered with their family and friends, and enjoyed barbeque and bingo game.
I was invited by the organizer, (my neighbor) and joined with my friends driving 147GTA and Spider.  Of course I could not join with my Alfa, so I joined with Renault Cinq.

There were lots of Alfa Romeo (much more than I expected).  Some peoples were reading my blog and spoken to me.  I was very motivated.  I must join this meeting with my Alfa!!!

(Sorry for the low resolution pictures by mobile phone.  My digital camera was broken.)

After the barbeque it was the time to enjoy car watching and conversation with owners.

Another fun was the bingo game.   The participants brought their unnecessary items related to Alfa Romeo or Italy as prizes for the bingo game.  I luckily got the nice photo of the 6C 2500 Super Sport I was aiming. ☺︎☺︎☺︎

This photo was taken by my friend.  He is a professional cameraman and took this photo when he visited Museo Storico Alfa Romeo before.

What I brought as prizes were the original Alfa Romeo 164 catalog for Japan (I got it at the Japan official Alfa Romeo dealer when 164 was introduced into Japan) and the Italian classic car magazine I bought in Italy before.

I was happy because both of them were taken by someone.

The weather of this day was very good and it was a really nice day.  I really appreciated the organizer.  Thanx!!!

Clutch master cylinder overhaul #3

I was still struggling with the sticking piston of the clutch master cylinder. I thought I should give up and look for the new part for the replacement.  And to for my curiosity , I started to destroy and disassemble the clutch master cylinder piston by drilling. When I was drilling the piston halfway , I didn ’ t have any specific idea , however , I thought to tap the piston to make the thread.  I started to turn the tap handle , and I felt the feeling that the piston was moved.  So , I tried to pull it , and then suddenly the piston was removed from the cylinder. Finally I could extract the rusty piston! I observed the extracted piston.  It looked there was no risk of the leakage of the fluid because the hole I made in the piston was not penetrated.  Thinking the function that this part only holding the rod connected with the clutch pedal , it could be reused if the hole would be filled by the hard material. However , before repairing the holed

Clutch master cylinder overhaul #4

The overhaul of the clutch master cylinder , which I succeeded in the removal and repair of the piston with solder ( probably ), has been still continuing.  The master cylinder was disassembled and all parts were cleaned.  The condition of each part was not bad. In the last week the cylinder and rod were painted. Assembly started.  I checked the condition of the rubber parts originally used comparing with ones of the repair kit.  And I decided to use the original ones because the rubber was not deteriorated yet and the quality looked better than the repair kit ’ s one. Always the assembly is fast although I always struggled with the disassembly. Before After The overhauled master cylinder could be operated smoothly.  And I believe the appearance also became cleaner. ( My original blog was written on 26th Jul. 2009 )
