2 days passed from the pouring of the MARINE CLEAN.
In order to clean the inside of the tank I made the special brush which had the extended arm.
I found the rest of the sliding door rail from the things not in use in garage and made the brush arm extension using it.
After that I extracted the MARINE CLEAN. Lots of rusts were removed together with gum and sludge. Wow!
At this moment the inside of the tank was like this.
There were still some rust remaining, but now I could see the surface of the steel slightly.
Next was to use the rust remover, METAL READY.
Instruction said that after pouring the METAL READY; to leave for 30 minutes usually, to leave 2 hours in case of heavily rusted, however, not to leave more than 2 hours.
The instruction sheet states that it is necessary to leave the tank for the following time after injecting METAL READY:
- Normally, leave for 30 minutes.
- In case of heavy rust, leave for 2 hours. However, it should not exceed 2 hours.
It might make holes on tank if it would be left more than 2 hours.
I poured the METAL READY in the tank. And I left it changing the position;
- For the bottom which had heavy rust, leave for 2 hours.
- For other parts, leave for 30 minutes ~ 1 hour.
While changing the position of the tank one cycle, I took dinner with beer and fell asleep ... and the time passed. Then, I jumped up thinking that "my tank would melt!" It was around 1 o’clock in the midnight. I rushed and drained the METAL READY quickly.
Fortunately, the tank was not melted and the color of the METAL READY was changed from blue to dark green. It seemed chemical reaction with rust was occurred.
The inside of the tank was changed like this.
Red rust was removed and turned into black rust.
I did it!!! ☺︎☺︎☺︎
